Vintage-styled Halloween goodness in the brightest way is what you'll find with VanDolls Folk Art. 

Artist Rachel Garrison's been a fixture at the Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween show, enticing all who visit her booth with her charming and lively creations! Her deft fingers manipulate papier mache' and a vivid color palette to whisk you off to that enchanting land where you'll find grinning Jack O'lanterns, wiley witches, skulls, happy masked children ready for a Halloween party, veggie people, naughty red devils, and many many more.

We're elated to feature Rachel's jubilant works in the Fall 2023 issue of AUTUMN BRILLIANCE magazine, available in September online (ordering info is at the left side of the website) and at the BPoH show in Michigan on September 30, 2023.

It's almost here ...

 

Autumn people ... we all are just that.

     Comprised of a patchwork quilt of deepest velvet hues of crimson and gold, orange and rust, shadows and moonlight, with Jack O'lantern grins and witch's cackles. 

     We reveal the playful and imaginative nature of our souls, always at the forefront, ready to welcome our friends and loved ones back into the fold.
      Take heed - soon, we will gather with joy and songs and vivid colors and comforting textures when the cool fall weather embraces us like a long-lost lover.
      Come revel with friends and fellow artists alike when Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween returns to the Calhoun County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

Soft sculpture brilliance! -

 

    We fully admit to being completely enamoured with the textile "soft sculpture" arts that some of our artists are flawlessly adept at conjuring up - like those created by our next featured artist, Claudia Pascoe Twede!

    Claudia has sculpted an amazing enchanted material realm of witches, warlocks, vampires, monsters, kitties and more, every single one of which is simply charming and completely hug-worthy.
     We're very pleased to feature her works here in the Fall 2023 issue of Autumn Brilliance magazine, available September 2023 online as both a printed and digital version (click link to the left here for ordering information).

    And, of course, you can grab a copy of your own at the Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween show on September 30, 2023 in Marshall, Michigan, too!

sadly, it exists no longer; it was over 100 years old and literally falling apart. It broke our hearts to have to demolish it but our Halloween spirit still remains.

 While we tough it out during the hot muggy summer, our dreams of chilly fall nights, Jack O'lanterns blazing, and the promise of upcoming Halloween keep us going. 

We are autumn people, comprised of colors such as crimson, orange, rust, gold and shadows...

    It's with great glee that we feature this gal in our Fall 2023 issue of AUTUMN BRILLIANCE. If there is an artist who is consistently brilliant at creating the most expressive faces, it is most certainly Lucky Stradley.

    A long time potter/sculptor, Lucky is prolific with her works, creating a legion of expressive faces that inhabit unique containers such as yarn bowls, dishes, cups, mugs, bird houses, lotion dispensers, bowls, mushrooms, pumpkins... this list goes on and on because Lucky's imagine is so fertile!  We're hard pressed to come up with another artist who equals her - there really is no equal, to be honest. She brings joy to all who view her clay works. Be forewarned: it will be a difficult task trying to pick out just one of her items to bring home, so you will likely end up with many!

A fabulous addition to the collection -

Artist Julia Guseva's unique pumpkin witch doll, now part of our personal collection!
  

As everyone knows, the main gist of this magazine is dedicated to featuring hand-crafted original artistry from around the world. 

 We strive to spotlight this kind of artistry, and try to support independent artists in every way we can.

We're constantly on the search for unique art to present in each issue, and often find creations that we personally must have for our own Halloween art collection. 

(Needless to say, we wish we could collect everything but don't have a big enough home for that!)

The charming little pumpkin witch doll in the photo above is one of those things! When Ukraine artist Julia Guseva was in the process of creating it and posted photos of her work in progress on Facebook, we fell head over heels in love and HAD TO HAVE IT. 

And who wouldn't? Look at it!

Dressed in a bedraggled hand-made costume befitting a true forest witch, a tiny jar of potion at the one hand and her cute wee pumpkin creature pet at her side, it brings to mind a scenario of her puttering about her cottage, busily tending to her cauldron with a league of familiars by her side. But one day, POOF! Her cauldron explodes and showers her with the ingredients, turning her into a pumpkin. Pumpkin witch, that is! She has been named Eulina Gourdina, and takes her place among many other original works of Halloween art in our personal collection, where she will be gazed upon with pure adoration.

We are EXCITED! -

 

There are those times when you meet certain people and just fall in love with them for their fun -loving personalities, their infectious joy for life - and their incredible art. We feel this exact way for the madly talented Cyn Tennant, and welcome her to our Fall 2023 issue!

We've come to know and absolutely adore this lady - and her art is to die for, too! Cyn conjures up an astonishing assemblage of curiously odd bits and pieces, with sculptural elements and wondrous colors that all grab you by the lapels and make you grin wide. That is what happens when you see her creations every time!

 
This very special gal's unique works can be seen this September, 2023, in the pages of AUTUMN BRILLIANCE magazine.
